Bypass is a montage of journeys, a series of passing sounds representing the "in-between" and being in the middle of sonic passages. The compositions in the release are created entirely from live recorded and processed audio loops made with electronic instruments, namely the Casio SA-3 keyboard. The looping technique applied during the recording is based on tape looping techniques developed by Brian Eno and Robert Fripp.

In Bypass, loops are processed and refined in real-time during the recording. Audio processing is an integral part of the improvisation and a factor that dictates the direction of the passages heard on the album. Each composition is founded on a singular live performance that is later arranged as a composition by layering segments from the overall recording. The sonic content folds over itself and forms a soundscape that bends the linearity of the performance.

The recording performances are spontaneous and improvised journeys, with the creation process evolving throughout the making. The exploratory approach entailed unpredictability and surprising timbral events. Each track offers something unique, with moods and soundscapes revealed only during the performance and arrangement. In other words, nothing on the album was predetermined or premeditated.
